Nelsoandra Janice Cole, 56, of Rock Island, Illinois, entered eternal rest on June 2, 2026, surrounded by her devoted family. She was born on August 8, 1969 in Moline, Illinois; the first child of Nelson and Delois (Patterson) Johnson.
Nelsoandra graduated from Moline High School, class of 1987. She married Sydney Cole and together they shared 11 years and welcomed two daughters. She later completed her family with the birth of her son. Nelsoandra was a deeply dedicated mother to Synesha, Shatazia, and Jaquai, who were the center of her life.
She earned her cosmetology degree from LaJames Cosmetology School and began her career at Safari into Beauty before later joining John Deere as an assembler.
Nelsoandra will be remembered for her bright, expressive eyes, radiant smile, gentle spirit, and generous heart. Her softspoken nature and patience left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her. She treasured time with her family and friends and embraced her role as “MeMa” with joy and enthusiasm. Nelsoandra loved traveling, road trips, shopping, and simple traditions such as Saturday Lifetime movies and Taco Tuesday, especially when shared with loved ones.
She is survived by her parents, Nelson and Delois Johnson, her children, Synesha Cole, Shatazia (RaShad) Caldwell, and Jaquai Scott, her grandchildren, Ryleigh, Rico, Royce, Pheanyx, Phranki, Khloe, Kali, Kashton, Zion, and Azai, her siblings, Michael Johnson, and Nel’Neka (Jermain) Fender.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, her brothers, Greg Johnson, and Nelson “Jay” Johnson, Jr., her nephew, Kendrin Rudd Johnson, her sister-in-law, Jackie Johnson, and several aunts and uncles.
A Celebration of Life will be 12:00 P.m., Thursday, June 11, 2026 at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 1501-6th Avenue, East Moline, Illinois. Visitation will be two hours before services starting at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be at Pine Hill Cemetery, Davenport, Iowa.
