Patricia Wheeler Obituary
Patricia Joy Wheeler, 81, of Hampton, Illinois, died Monday, November 10, 2014 at Marigold Rehab and Health Care Center, Galesburg, Illinois. There will be no visitation. Services will be Friday, November 14, 2014, at 10:00 a.m., at Hampton United Methodist Church, Hampton, IL. Pastor Nikki Ross Bishop will officiate. Burial is in Hampton Township Cemetery following services. Sullivan-Ellis Mortuary, Ltd., is assisting the family.
Patricia was born November 29, 1932 in Hampton, the daughter of Roy and Lorraine (Johnson) Coon. She married Charles E. Wheeler in Hampton on June 23, 1951. She worked as a store clerk at Ben Franklin Variety Store in Moline for 25 years, retiring in 1994.
She was a member of Hampton United Methodist Church, taught Sunday school and sang in the choir. She loved flowers and working in the garden, walking with her dog, crocheting and cross stitching.
She is survived by her daughter, Brenda (Ken) Pfau, Hampton, IL, son, Charles (Bonnie) Wheeler, Geneseo, IL, Bruce (Sara) Wheeler, Mineral, IL, 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Pat is preceded in death by parents, husband, Charles, and brother, Roy.
Memorials may be made to the St. Judes Ranch for Children in Boulder, CO.
