Pearl Cooper Obituary

Pearl E. Cooper, 101, of Hampton, IL, died Monday, November 26, 2012 at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Restorative Care, Silvis, IL. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 28, 2012, 4:00 7:00 p.m., at Sullivan-Ellis Mortuary, Ltd., East Moline, with services on Thursday, November 29, 2012 at 10:00 a. m., also at the funeral home. Pastor Nikki Ross Bishop will officiate. Burial is in the Hampton Township Cemetery, Hampton, IL following services.

Pearl was born July 30, 1911 in Rapids City, IL, daughter Amelia (Hoffstetter) and Clarence E. Leslie. She married Donald Cooper on October 9, 1931 and he preceded her in death January 17, 1998. She was a clerk for the Hampton Post Office.

She enjoyed crocheting for many years. She belonged to the Methodist Womans Society and was a Sunday school teacher for many years. She traveled with her husband to Arizona for several years. One of her highlights was her trip to Israel.

She is survived by her sons, Donald (Donna) Cooper and Gerald (Mearlene) Cooper, both of Hampton, IL, 13 grandchildren and several great and great great grandchildren, daughter-in-law, Beverly, and a host of nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Donald, and son, David.
