Renee M. Woodard, 100, of Rock Island, passed away September 3, 2018 at Clarissa C Cook Hospice, Bettendorf, IA surrounded by her family.
A mass of Christian burial will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 17, at Our Lady of Guadalupe, Silvis. A rosary will be recited prior to the mass at 9:30 a.m. at the church. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery, East Moline. Sullivan-Ellis Mortuary, Ltd. is assisting the family. Memorials may be made to the Ursuline Sisters.
Renee was born August 25, 1918, in Mabton, Washington, the daughter of Emmanuel Charvet and Jeanne Menager Charvet. She married Carl W. Woodard November 27, 1941 in New Orleans, LA. Carl preceded her in death August 20, 2010.
Renee was devote member of the Catholic faith. She attended Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church where she was a member of the Altar Society. Renee was very active in the church; she helped with funeral luncheons, the Fiesta and anything that was asked of her. She was always up for a good adventure: hiking, camping, and traveling. She was an excellent seamstress.
She is survived by her sons; William (Dee Ann) Woodard, Pitkin, CO, Carl (Becki) Woodard, Silvis, Lynn (Joann) Woodard, Carbon Cliff, daughters; Darlene Charvet, El Cerrito, CA, and Jo Ann (Mike) Davis, Silvis; son-in-law, Tom Rasmussen, Silvis.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Carl, daughter, Luci Rasmussen, son in law, John Charvet, 12 brothers and sisters.
