Richard Earl Papenhausen

Richard E. Papenhausen, 85, of Moline, IL, died Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline. Visitation will be Monday, February 17, 2014 from 4:00 7:00 p.m. at Sullivan-Ellis Mortuary, Ltd., East Moline. Cremation rites will be accorded.

Richard was born February 21, 1928 in Moline, the son of Henry and Nettie Williams Papenhausen. He married Ora Jean Krouth on October 5, 1951. He was an industrial engineer at John Deere Harvester for 34 years retiring in 1982.

Richard was a US Navy Veteran of WWII. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge 1014, Scottish Rite Valley of Moline, a 33rd Degree Mason, Black Hawk Shrine Club, Tebala Shrine of Rockford, IL, Moline Vikings, VFW 2153, Moline, American Legion, Moline and Past President of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Area 1112. He loved to go golfing.

He is survived by his sons, James and (Patricia), Port Byron, IL, Jeffrey, Leander, TX, and Joel Papenhausen, Moline, IL, 5 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Richard is preceded in death by his parents, Wife, Ora, a brother and 3 sisters.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children.
