Rick Ward Obituary
Rick Martin Ward, 67, of East Moline, IL, died Thursday, May 8, 2014 at Genesis Medical Center, Silvis Campus, Silvis, IL. Visitation for Rick will be Thursday, May 15, 2014 at 9:00 - 11:00 a.m., with services following at 11:00 a.m., at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, East Moline. Rev. P. Wonder Harris will officiate. Burial will be in the Rock Island National Cemetery. Military rites will be performed by the VVA, Chapter 299. Sullivan-Ellis Mortuary, Ltd., East Moline, is assisting the family.
Rick was born November 2, 1946 in Rushville, IL, the son of Marcus J. and Lela (Skiles) Ward. He was a US Navy Veteran. He was a sales manager for Eastern Iowa Tire Co. Rick liked riding motorcycles, reading and photography. He taught Sunday School at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church.
He is survived by his son, Grant (Valerie) Ward, Antioch, IL, daughter, Michele (Edward) Barnes, Cottage Grove, MN, brothers, Michael (Debbie) Ward and Steven Ward, both of San Jose, CA, Mark Ward, sisters, Crystal Hast, Sandra Ward, all of East Moline, 6 grandchildren, and beloved friend, Mattie Dorsey, East Moline.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
