Robert Freeman Obituary
Robert Lee Freeman, 79, of East Moline, died Friday, April 27, 2012 at Hope Creek Care Center, E. Moline. Visitation will be Monday, April 30, 2012, 5:00 7:00 p.m., at Sullivan-Ellis Mortuary, Ltd., E. Moline, with graveside services on Tuesday, May 1, 2012, 9:00 a.m., meeting at the funeral home by 8:20 a.m., at the Rock Island National Cemetery, Rock Island. The Moline American Legion No. 246 will conduct military rites. Rev. Ron Philpot will officiate.
Robert was born December 30, 1932 in Spadra, Arkansas, the son of L. B. and Murel (Patten) Freeman. He was a machine operator for Farmall and also worked at Selective Service. He married Anna L. Wood, January 1, 1956 and she preceded him in death July 21, 2000. Robert was in the Air Force serving 8 years, and a Korean War Veteran. He enjoyed bike riding and fishing and his grandchildren.
He is survived by his , son, Keith Freeman, Orlando, FL, daughters, La Rhonda (Roy) Tracy, East Moline, Cindy Welge-Snare (Bob Snare), Peoria, IL, Monica (Wroy) Kizer, Silvis, IL, 7 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, sisters, Weda Davis, and Wanda Freeman, both of AR. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, and sister, Wilma Barber.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
