Robert “Jack Rabbit” Williams, 71, of Rock Island, passed away Thursday, November 26, 2020 at UnityPoint Health Trinity, Rock Island.
The funeral will be 12:00 p.m. Friday, December 4, 2020 at Sullivan-Ellis Mortuary, Ltd., 1902-3rd Avenue East Moline. There will be a one-hour visitation before services. Services will be live streamed at www. Facebook.com /SullivanEllisMortuary. Burial will follow at Hampton Township Cemetery. All CDC rules will be enforced. Memorials may be made to the family.
Robert Williams was born May 31, 1949 in East St. Louis; the son of Willie Williams and Florence McCorkle. Robert was graduate of East Side High School, East St. Louis, class of 1969. He worked for Rock Island High School as a janitor last working in 2010.
Robert enjoyed playing horse shoes, listening to blues music, and barbecuing. He was known for his great meatloaf at family meals. He was a spiritual, positive person. Robert loved a good joke or prank on the people he loved most. He was an avid Rams and St. Louis Cardinals fan.
Those left to cherish his memory are his significant other, Millie Dunn, Rock Island his children; Robert Williams, Jr., Phoenix, AZ, Desiree Williams, Moline, Angel Darty, Cleveland, OH, and Christopher Williams, Rock Island, 15 grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, best friend, Jesus Cuellar, Rock Island, and a very special nephew, La Marcus Williams.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings, Leslie McCorkle, Arthur McCorkle, Willie Lee McCorkle, John Williams, Louis Williams Sr., and sister, Rosie McCorkle
