Rolland Dean West

Rolland D. West, 85 of East Moline, passed away Monday, May 23, 2022 at Illini Restorative Care, Silvis.

Funeral services will be at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, May 26, 2022 at The Sanctuary Quad Cities, 1501-John Deere Pkwy, Silvis, Illinois.  Visitation will be one hour prior. Burial will follow at The Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to The Sanctuary Quad Cities.

Rolland Dean West was born February 26, 1937 in East Peoria, Illinois; the son of Edward and Gladys (Huskey) West. He entered the US Army in 1960.  Rolland married the love of his life, Patsy Ann Jones, July 9, 1966 at The Whole Truth Tabernacle Church, Silvis.  He was employed as a lay out inspector at John Deere Plow and Planter, Moline.  Rolland retired in 1991 after 30 years of service.  He was a member of The Sanctuary Quad Cities, Silvis.  Rolland enjoyed woodworking which included furniture, doll furniture, cradles, and rocking horses.  He worked on cars and he did mechanical work for the buses at church. 

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 55 years, Patsy West, East Moline, his sons, Troy (Rachelle) West, Port Byron, and Todd (Twila) West, Columbus, Indiana, his grandchildren, Payton, Haley, Brooke, Spencer, and Kyah, his great-grandchildren, Jackson and Emerson, 8 nieces and nephews, and a host of cousins. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Gerald West.
