Ruth Marsh Obituary

Ruth M. Marsh, 92, of Hampton, IL, went to live with her Lord on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline. Visitation will be from 4:00 7:00 p.m., Thursday, February 27, 2014 at Sullivan-Ellis Mortuary, Ltd., East Moline, with services at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 28, 2014 at Zion Lutheran Church, East Moline. Rev. Gary Wright will officiate. Burial is in the Zion Church Cemetery.

Ruth was born February 28, 1921 in Warren County, Iowa, the daughter of Frank and Lydia (Nolte) Moeschen. Ruth worked at the RI Arsenal where she met and married Bernard Marsh on December 20, 1944 at St. Johns, East Moline and became a wife and stay at home Mom. He preceded her in death in 2000.

She was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church, Altar Guild, Lutheran Womens Missionary League, RI Couonty Home Extension, Ladies Aid and she was an avid Cubs Fan.

She is survived by her son, Myles Marsh and daughter, Marlene (George) Fellows, both of Hampton, IL, grandsons, Ben (Stacy) Fellows, Freeport, IL, Nic Fellows, Foreston, IL, granddaughters, Heather Marsh, Bettendorf, IA, Amanda (Jarred) Amato, Moline, IL, and great grandchildren, Natalie, Emery, Ava and Mason and special friends, Erma Ziegler and Mary Mcgee.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters, Mable Starckovich, Eula Langebartels, and niece, Janet Bradford.

Instead of flowers, memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church, or Hope Creek Memory Care Center.
