Sandra Kay Arrington, 69, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away January 7, 2021 at Olathe Medical Center, Olathe, Kansas.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 16 at Word of Life, 1804-7th Avenue, Rock Island, Illinois. The Rev. P Wonder Harris will officiate. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 p.m. Friday, January 15, 2021 at Sullivan-Ellis Mortuary, Ltd. 1902-3rd Avenue East Moline, Illinois. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, face masks must be worn at all times and social distancing will be enforced.
Sandra Kay Arrington was born August 21, 1951 in Magee, Mississippi; the daughter of Julius Clark and Betty Jean (Hubbard) Arrington. Sandra was a 1969 graduate of United Township High School. She held an AA from Black Hawk College. Sandra was employed by John Deere for thirty years. She was a board member of the Water Town Economic Empowerment, Founder of Beauty Inside and Out, minister of music and choir director at Trinity Community Baptist Church, Mt. Zion, Truth Temple, PCG, Metro Youth Choir, Martin Luther King Community Choir, Valley Community Church and Victory Temple Church. Sandra was the Domestic Violence Coordinator at Family Resources.
Those left to cherish her memory are her mother, Betty Jean Arrington, her children, Diallo (Alicia) Samuels, Olathe, Kansas, and Ayanna (Lemoyne) Freeman, Greenville, South Carolina, her grandchildren, Diandra Samuels, Diante Samuels, Alani Johnson, , Kayana Woods, Tredrick Johnson, Kristian Moon, Kamile Moon, Kaleel Moon, Lemoyne Freeman Jr., and Prince Ja’cion Freeman, great grandchildren, Aviana Joyner, and L’Diamond Bennett, her aunt, Lucille Norwood, Georgia, her sister, Sylvia England, Waukegan, Illinois, host of nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, her sister, Gwenn Dixon, and her brother, Julius Arrington, Jr.
