Sandra J. Tone, 80, of Wentzille, Missouri, formerly of Moline, passed away Saturday, August 27, 2022 at her home.
Cremation rites have been accorded. There will be no services at this time.
Sandra Jean Samuelson was born July 1, 1942 in Moline; the daughter of Gene R. and Juanita (Miner) Samuelson. Sandy graduated from Moline High School, class of 1960. She married her teenage sweetheart, Randy Tone, October 7, 1961 at First Christian Church, East Moline. Sandy worked as a hairdresser but mostly as a homemaker and stay at home mom. She was a Girl Scout Leader where she was the “head float maker” for many parades. Sandy enjoyed decorating for the holidays; she was very artistic. She made all the Christmas ornaments for her family. She didn’t make snowman, she made “snow elephants”. On Easter she would visit the grandchildren’s home and hang carrots and easter bunnies from the trees. Sandy always made a white and chocolate angel food cake for her birthday. She always made special and personal birthday cakes for everyone in the family. Her special time of the year was the annual family vacation at Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin. Sandy loved to draw and paint but most of all her life revolved around her family.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of sixty years, Randy Tone, Wentzville, Missouri, her children, Ryan (Pam) Tone, Hampton, Illinois, Ragan (Kathie) Tone, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Renee Tone Meyer, Wentzville, Missouri, her grandchildren, Tim Rockstroh, Melissa (Chris) Henderson, Haley Meyer, Julie Meyer, Connie Meyer, and Ellie Meyer, her great-grandchildren, Kiersten Henderson, Aaliyah Ball, Kiera Henderson, Urijah Tone-Henderson, and Raelyn Charlesworth, and her half-sister, Muriel Voss, Bettendorf, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents. Gene and Juanita Samuelson.
