Scharla Yvette Jamison, 71, of East Moline, passed away at her home Sunday, September 25, 2022.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 3, 2022 at Gaines Chapel AME Church, 311-19th Street, East Moline. Pastor Cyrus Burns will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to Gaines Chapel AME Church.
Scharla Yvette Jamison was born April 9, 1951, in Moline; the third child of Julius and Julia M. (Beavers) Jamison Davis. She was a 1969 graduate of United Township High School, East Moline. Scharla held a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Illinois State University. She was employed by the United States Government in Washington, DC, last working in 2001. Scharla was a life member of Gaines Chapel AME Church. At her church, she was a member of the Wellness Community. Scharla was an avid reader and coin collector. She loved to throw parties for friends and family. Scharla enjoyed shopping, eating, and “British TV”. Scharla loved “Jeopardy” and she rarely missed a question.
Those left to cherish her memory are her siblings, Sharon Jamison-Webb, East Moline, Anthony “Tonie” (Irene)Jamison, Chicago, and Julius “Jeff” (Sherri) Jamison, Silvis, her aunts, Irma Henry, Milwaukee, WI, Fredda (Dorsey) Jones, Henderson, NV and Dorothy (Otis) Dykes, Henderson, NV, her niece and nephew, Cantrese (Emmanuel) Webb-Ashison, Moline, and Terrell (Diane) Webb, East Moline, her great niece and nephews, Christopher Webb, Brittany Webb, Ryan Webb, and Grant Webb, her great-great nieces and nephews, Ariana Webb, Ivy Webb, McKenzie Webb, Bentley Webb and one on the way, and her best friend, Cynthia Cummings-Bass.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Andrei Jamison.
