Sherrie Susanne Neilson

Sherrie Neilson, 54, of Colona, Illinois passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at MercyOne Genesis Silvis Medical Center, Silvis, Illinois.

There will be a visitation 1:00-3:00 p.m. Sunday, April 13, 2025 at Sullivan-Ellis Mortuary, Ltd., East Moline.  Cremation rites will be accorded after the visitation.  Memorials may be made to Gift of Hope.

Sherrie Susanne Neilson was born August 14, 1970 in Harvey, Illinois; the daughter of Frankie Neilson and Linda Burns.  She was a graduate of Hillcrest High School class of 1988.  Sherrie loved to travel which led her to be a hotel concierge in many places.  She was currently working as a home health technician for DHS. 

Sherrie enjoyed the outdoors whether it was horseback riding, fishing, cooking outdoors, or “beaching out” She loved the companionship of friends.  Sherrie had a radiant soul that lit up a room with her sense of humor and laughter.  She touched everyone with her compassion and giving spirit.  Sherrie was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt and friend; she will be greatly missed.

 Those left to cherish her memory are her mother, Linda Burns, her brothers, Frank Neilson, James Neilson, Scott Burns, and Kevin Burns, her sister, Catherine Burns, companion Tom Osborne, a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Frankie Neilson.
