Shirley Ann (Berg) Phillips

Shirley Ann Phillips, 87, passed away Sunday, December 4, 2022 at her home. 

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at Christ the King Catholic Church, Moline.  Inurnment will be at The Rock Island National Cemetery.  Visitation will be one hour prior at the church.  Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Shirley Ann Berg was born September 11, 1935 at Hammond, Indiana; the daughter of Bernard and Edna (Flint) Berg.  She was a 1943 graduate of Hammond High School, Hammond, Indiana.  Shirley had a Bachelor of science in nursing from St. Francis College, Joliet, Illinois. She last worked as a school nurse for the Morris School District, Morris, Illinois, retiring in 1996.  Shirley married Herbert Ray Phillips May 2, 1959 in Hammond, Indiana; he passed October 4, 2012.

Shirley was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church, Moline.  She enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing and golfing.  Shirley also spent many hours quilting, knitting, and crocheting.  She was good at “giving her opinions”. 

Those left to share her memory are Shirley’s daughter, Laura (Harold) Lindemann, Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Shirley’s daughter, Linda (Randy) Ryder, Morris, Illinois, her son, Johnathan (Tina) Ryder, his children, Alyssa and Matthew Ryder, and daughter Connie (Nicholas) Kowalski, her daughter, Kayla Kowalski and Shirley’s daughter, Julie (Brian) Richter, East Moline, Illinois, her children, Dustin Walker, Shelby Walker, and Drake Walker, a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.
