Willadean (Small) Willard

Willadean Willard, 94, of Rock Island passed away Sunday, August 28, 2022 at Friendship Manor, Rock Island. 

Services will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at Sullivan-Ellis Mortuary, Ltd., 1902-3^rd Avenue East Moline.  Pastor Tanner Smith of Pathway Church, Moline will officiate.  Visitation will be one hour prior to services.  Memorials may be made to the Pathway Church. 

M. Williadean Small was born March 25, 1928 in Kalona, Iowa; the daughter of Verl and Barbara (Burkley) Small.  As a child, she attended a one room school.  She was a 1946 graduate of Kalona Public High School.  Willadean married Harold D. Willard August 13, 1955.  He passed March 16, 2012.  From this union was born Mark Willard; he passed October 21, 2009.  Willadean and her husband were very active in their church, Community Christian Church, Moline.  She was the financial secretary for several years and she taught Sunday School.  Willadean was even known to mow the grass with her husband at the church.  She was an avid bird watcher; she loved to study them. 

Those left to cherish her memory are her sister, Margaret Lage, Rock Island, her granddaughter, Tara Willard, Cincinnati, Ohio, her grandson, Mark Willard, Moline, her great-granddaughters, Madisen Willard, and Mya Willard both of Moline, and a host of nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Harold, and her son, Mark.
