William T. Craig, Jr., 82, of Davenport, passed away Monday, November 28, 2022 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.
Funeral services will be 10:00 am Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at Sullivan-Ellis Mortuary, Ltd., 1902-3rd Avenue East Moline. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 pm Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at the funeral home. Burial will be at The Rock Island National Cemetery with honors. Memorials may be made to the American Legion Post 26 or King’s Harvest Pet Rescue.
William Thomas Craig, Jr. was born February 28, 1940 in Wilmington, Delaware: the son of William Thomas, Sr. and Geraldine Cecilia (Lord) Craig. He was a William Penn High School graduate of 1958 and Pensacola College. Bill married Patricia Callander; she passed November 2, 1987. He married Sheila Edwards May 25, 1990 in Davenport. Bill worked as a Cryptologic Technician for the U.S. Navy, retiring September 30, 1986 after twenty-eight years of service. He was a member of the Naval Cryptologic Veteran’s Association “NVCA”, American Legion Post 26, Fleet Reserve Association Branch 242, “Top Gun” Chief’s Club and Scottish American Society. Bill enjoyed taking photos and he was quite good at nature photography. He looked forward to traveling, especially the biennial trips to Disney World and the NCVA reunion trips.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of thirty-two years, Sheila Craig, Davenport, his children, Bill (Priscilla) Craig, New Hampshire, Kenneth Craig, Ohio, John Craig, Utah, Jackie Epps, Virginia, and Rachel (Wyatt) Pace, Illinois, nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, his siblings, Pat Lord, Delaware, Helen McKamey, Maryland, Cecilia Craig, Delaware, Denise Zarco, Delaware, and Joseph Craig, Delaware.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Patricia Craig, and sister, Geraldine Harris.
